All Radio Amateur, listeners and TelecomMan, if you are a Mac with Snow Leopard by example you can use your IC-PCR1500 Communication Receiver with your Macintosh, you mke a Windows Virtual MAchine with XP by example you put the Driver for the ICOM USB (SiliconLabs CP2101 USB to UART), after don t put the ICOM software he cannot find the Com4 or COM 3, forget with SunVirtual Machine the USB Audio from the ICOM use the ICOM speaker. For the software use the PCR Pro Shareware. you can use your ICOM on your Mac. Me i take my Canadian Version of ICOM PCR1500, i put a converter 230VAC in 110VAC, i have only an ICOM 110VAC adapter and a converter the price is good, the ICOM 230VAC adapter the price is to expensive and all t s ok in my Virtual Machine i can listen the Radio on my MacBook directly , now you can discover the SATINT,COMINT, SIGINT,GEOINT…You can receive some data from Radio Signal. You can try to listen GPS Signal : The L1 frequency with 1575.42 MHz, wavelength 19.05 cm, Right Hand Circular Polarization(RHCP). The L1 frequency carries the navigation data as well as the SPS code (standard positioning code) and the L2 frequency 1227.60 MHz, wavelength 24.45 cm, Right Hand Circular Polarization(RHCP) only carries the P code and is only used by receivers which are designed for PPS (precision positioning code)

You can use the very famous ArcInfo on your Macintosh on a Free Sun virtual Machine without Problem, you can plug a GPS like a big Professionnal L1/L2 GPS like a big Trimble on the Mac USB port, you can use some ArcGIS plug in like ArcPAD and you can Synchronize your GPS across the Mac USB Port and the Sun Virtual Box USB port. You can put yours File on a USB key and mount your USB Key in the Virtual Machine. You start your virtual XP Machine  in several seconds, after  when you use the XP and software like ArcGIS the speed it s good. On your Mac (iMAc, MacBook) put 2GB Minimum but yhe better thing it s 4GB an if you want put more you can put 8GB (New iMac, New MacBook : Maximum Memory Size) or 16GB perhaps 32GB on a Mac Pro. More you have memory more programs you can run in the same times and you can start other Virtual Machine on your Mac

you can use a program like Sun Virtual Machine but you must buy some $$$ , it s VMWare fusion soon a new version go out in 64Bit for Snow Leopard i think the VMWare fusion the I/O management it s better because VMWare it s more old ans Sun Virtual Machine it s a very young Project from Sun and it s the Free Version

ESRI says iPhone support and release an app in the end of this year in the AppStore.  I hope this month, next nonth or perhaps for christmas time, we hope the price it s very good . When i see the price of ArcPAD for Windows Mobile GPS like Trimble, the price is expensive… I hope the price in the AppStore it s very good i don t want pay 1500 € for an app. ESRI can sell for free for the Starting in the AppStore for one or two weeks

This small program it s a prediction software for know if  is good for make a good GPS position tou can use this program for use the GPS iPhone, but if you are PDOP between 0 and 6, it s good. If you are a PDOP more of 6, dont take position it s awfull )) you can download here this program for PC if you want use your Macintosh, you can use Sun Virtual Box from Sun Microsystems (Oracle) , install a valid License of Windows XP or Vista and install planning Progam

Me i make that i don t have any more PC at home  only a MacBook and a very old version of XP from my last PC in Canada … and i use Sun VirtualBox…  and Planning is very good.

This GPS use a Trimble Chipset like a SiRF III chipset, but this chipset can take a position with better precision, This Trimble GPS, Geo XH uses Windows Mobile 6 Classic, we use ArcPAD software it s like ArcMAp on PC, we use the GPS Correct from Trimble we installed on the GPS. This software supply a file with all points take by the GPS, this GPS for take a waypoint he make an average with 5 points.  With ArcMap and  Trimble GPS Correct plugin for ArcMap we can processing this file with some databases near of the point we take the positions. We can use some Free IGN databases in France

This GPS is very good , perhaps one day Apple make a Deal with Trimble Navigation for integrate  the famous Trimble Chipset. Trimble can use a SiRF III chipset too. i think a SiRF III chipset its like the Infineon GPS chipset make with the R&D of Infineon in Germany and Apple Inc.

Perhaps one day on the AppStore ESRI put an ArcPAD for iPhone, for take points and make a post processing by example , i hope ESRI make that in a short time. And Why not ArcPad with a GPS Dock like TomTom with a Trimble GPS by example

This iPhone Apps developped by Dassault Systemes, this company did create the very famous Catia PLM software for design Aircrafts, Cars, Boats … 3DVia, it s a small iPhone software for view some 3D Models  made with the 3Dvia Shape  Porgram for PC only a very very very light Catia Design , after you create a shape you can upload in the 3DVia Website and open in your iPhone 3DVia Mobile

i make a small screen capture of 3DVIA Mobile on my iPhone for a limited time this App is free after USD 1.99… And you can move the 3D shape and Zoom in and out… Perhaps Dassault Systems improves 3DVIA Mobile next time …
